Subject: Appreciation for Your Commitment to Students and Community Involvement

Dear Superintendent Huffman and Sausalito Marin City School District Trustees,

On behalf of the 330+ parents, guardians, teachers, school staff, and community members that signed the open letter, we want to express our appreciation to Superintendent Huffman for her active engagement in finding solutions that minimize impact to students. The new scenarios presented at the Thursday board meeting align more closely with the resounding community input. We are encouraged to witness a commitment to prioritizing the needs of our students and to ensure that their well-being remains at the forefront of decision-making.

Additionally, we extend our gratitude to the Board of Trustees. We are heartened to learn that the majority of the board members have expressed support for the new scenarios presented. Also, the emphasis placed on further exploring non-student-facing cost reductions reflects their commitment to finding viable solutions.

We understand the complexity of the decisions and acknowledge the difficult task that lies before you all. The upcoming weeks are crucial, and we eagerly anticipate learning more about the potential campus configurations for the next academic year. Moreover, we look forward to gaining insight into the details of the proposed cost reduction plan due by February 23rd.

As stakeholders in our community, we value your collaboration. We believe that open communication and community involvement are essential components in navigating these challenging situations successfully. As Phil so timely reminded us “ No one gets there unless we all get there.”

We trust that the decisions made will be in the best interest of our students and will contribute to the overall well-being of our school district.

Thank you for your tireless efforts and dedication to ensuring a bright future for all of our children.

Sincerely,
