Update to community members

Dear MLK Academy Community Members,

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for the powerful impact your voices had at the school board meeting on Thursday night. Your dedication to our community and, most importantly, our students has not gone unnoticed.

Special appreciation goes out to Superintendent Huffman for actively listening to our concerns and presenting new scenarios that align with the community’s feedback. 

We also extend our gratitude to the Board of Trustees, the majority of whom have expressed support for these new scenarios. Their emphasis on further exploring cost reductions that minimize the impact on our students underscores their dedication to finding solutions.

We understand the complexity of the decisions ahead, and we acknowledge the difficult task at hand. The upcoming weeks are crucial, and we anticipate learning more about the potential campus configurations for the next academic year. Additionally, we look forward to gaining insight into the details of the cost reduction plan, which requires approval by February 23.
